Residential Property Forum

We host this industry-led forum. It helps to inform our work to maintain financial stability in the UK.

Overview

The Residential Property Forum monitors the residential property sector in the UK. It looks out for any issues that arise and it provides insight on the housing and mortgage markets.

People working in the sector lead the forum and make up the majority of its members. We organise its meetings. They are hosted by our Executive Director for Financial Stability Strategy and Risk. It usually meets once a quarter. Sometimes there are extra meetings to examine specific topics if issues emerge.

We set up the forum in 2010. It works alongside the Commercial Property Forum that we founded in 1993. Both forums inform the work our Financial Policy Committee does to maintain financial stability in the UK.

Members

Members of the forum come from the residential property sector. They include, but are not limited to: house builders, investors, landlords, intermediaries, housing market experts and commentators, estate agents and financial institutions.

Representatives from the Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority and Government departments come to its meetings and take part in its discussions.

The current chair of the forum is Jackie Bennett OBE who was appointed in April 2022 and will serve a three year term.

Jackie is a Senior Advisor for UK Finance specialising in personal finance. She is also a non-executive director on the New Homes Quality Board (NHQB) and OnLadder, the chair of NHQB RemCo and trustee of the FairLife Charity.

The current vice-chair of the forum Peter Pereira-Gray who was appointed in April 2022 and will serve a three year term.
