Dame Colette Bowe

Biography

Term of appointment: 1 September 2019 - 31 August 2025

Dame Colette Bowe was Chairman of the UK Banking Standards Board from 2014 to 2019.

She has previously held a number of senior board roles across various sectors, including investment management, banking, private equity and transport. She was chairman of Ofcom from 2009 to 2014. 

She is a Trustee of the IFRS Foundation.

After an early career in Whitehall, she worked as an executive in City regulation and asset management.

She has a particular interest in education and previously chaired the Council of Queen Mary, University of London and the music education body ABRSM. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Qatar Centre for Global Banking and Finance, Kings College London, and is the chair of the Fellows’ Remuneration Review Committee of Nuffield College Oxford.

She has a BSc, MSc and PhD in economics, all from London University.
