Norval Bryson

Norval Bryson was a non-executive director of Scottish Widows Group and latterly Deputy Chairman, until 31 July 2015. He was also a non-executive director of TSB Bank from June 2013 until June 2015. His executive career was with Scottish Provident in various roles from 1974 until 2002, retiring as Group Finance Director.

Norval is a qualified actuary and served twice on Faculty Council, the second term as Honorary Secretary. He has also served on the Accountancy and Discipline Board of the Financial Reporting Council, the Church of Scotland Investors Trust and the Court of St Andrews University. 

He remains a governor of St Columba’s Hospice in Edinburgh and has degrees from St Andrews and the Open Universities and a doctorate from Oxford University.
